«De Cebo de campo» or Free-range Mixed feeding
This is a new designation covered in the recent revision of the still unpublished «Ibérico» Quality Control Standard. The animals which will be used for products designated as «de cebo de campo» are pigs which while still feeding on the natural resources from the land/pastures, are fed with feeds principally made up of cereals and pulses. This takes place outdoors on extensive or intensive feeding farms, with special characteristics regarding the density of animals, and allows for part of the surface to be covered/closed in.

The established minimum surface of total land per animal is 100 m2.

60 days is established as the minimum stay of the animals on these farms before slaughtering. They are not allowed to be slaughtered until they are at least 12 months old..
